From the Staff: New Camp Heart Program Inspires Youth to Lead with Kindness

Photo of members smiling for the picture. The Behavioral Health Team is excited to launch our new program, alongside OtterCares, Camp Heart. Camp Heart is a program where members can come together to learn, grow and connect through acts of kindness and service. Rooted in the belief every child has the power to make a difference, our program encourages members to see themselves as leaders within their communities. By fostering a safe and welcoming environment, Camp Heart gives members the tools and confidence to recognize their strengths and use them in meaningful ways.

The goal of Camp Heart is to empower, ignite and inspire. Empowerment comes through helping members discover their own voices, talents and potential to change. Curiosity and passion are ignited by providing hands-on experiences in volunteer service and community building. More importantly, Camp Heart allows the opportunity for members to see beyond themselves; learning that even small acts of care, compassion and curiosity can make our communities better.

Through shared experiences, Camp Heart builds more than just skills, it builds connections. Members are able to learn the importance of collaboration, empathy and social responsibility as they work side by side with peers, mentors and community partners. Whether through volunteering projects, reflective conversations or personal creativity every member has the opportunity to give back.
