Meet our 2026 Champion for Children: Kathi Wright!

In celebration of our milestone 40th anniversary, Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County is proud to recognize longtime Executive Director Kathi Wright as this year’s Champion for Children Award recipient.

After moving to Northern Colorado in 1978, Kathi built a successful career with the City of Loveland. During that time, she began volunteering at a local teen center, eventually serving as Board President and leading its merger with Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County. In 1999, following ten years of volunteer leadership, Kathi was selected as Executive Director of BGCLC, a role she held until her retirement in 2018. During her tenure, she led successful capital campaigns, oversaw the construction of the Fort Collins and Loveland-Pulliam Club facilities, and helped more than double the organization’s reach and impact across Larimer County.

Kathi’s leadership has been widely recognized, including honors such as the Southwest Region Executive of the Year, the Team Fort Collins Key Leader of the Year, the Colorado Lions Foundation Humanitarian Award, and the Jim Wetherington Southwesterner Award. She currently serves as President of the Thompson Valley Rotary Club, is a former member of Loveland City Council, and continues her commitment to youth and families through volunteerism and fundraising support for local nonprofits.
