U.S. Congressman Joe Neguse visited Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County’s (BGCLC) Fort Collins Club on Friday, August 27 for an exclusive tour from BGCLC’s CEO, Kaycee Headrick, Club Director, Tyler Cobb, and Club members. The tour gave Congressman Neguse an inside look at BGCLC’s out-of-school program. In addition, youth who attend the Boys & Girls Club were able to meet and have impactful conversations with their state representative.
Discussions during the tour were focused on the role that Boys & Girls Clubs played during the pandemic, the critical work of out-of-school providers, and affordable childcare in Larimer County. At the end of the tour, Congressman Neguese met with youth to talk about topics that were meaningful to them and about their Club experience.
Direct conversations with representatives are one of the best opportunities for youth to use their voices and learn about the democratic process. We are so thankful that Congressman Joe Neguse and his team were able to join us at the Boys & Girls Club and listen to some of the young people we serve.
