Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County Awarded for Outstanding Achievements in 2020

Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County (BGCLC) does whatever it takes to ensure youth have a safe, fun, and affordable place to spend their out-of-school time. Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) recognized the organization’s outstanding achievements by awarding them with The Blue Spirit Award. Kaycee Headrick, CEO, accepted the award at the 2021 BGCA Southwest Regional Conference on October 7, 2021.

This award is the highest honor bestowed by the President of BGCA to a local Club in a particular region. The Blue Spirit Award recognizes Clubs that exemplify what it means to be a part of the Boys & Girls Clubs Movement. This means going above and beyond and doing whatever it takes to make a difference in the lives of youth in our community.

Over the last year, BGCLC has been innovative in its strategies and dedicated to serving youth and families in Larimer County. At the onset of the pandemic, they worked tirelessly to ensure that essential workers had somewhere for their children to go so they could still go to work. Once school started in the fall, they planned for Clubs to be open all day to provide remote learning support because schools were not open in person. In addition, they worked with partners in the community to find places for families to go who were evacuated due to last year’s wildfires.

“We are honored to receive this award and recognition! It is a testament to the dedication of our team and our commitment to do whatever it takes to serve young people in Larimer County,” says Kaycee Headrick, CEO for Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County has been providing support for youth and families since 1986.
