Picture of Maddie, "Senior Youth of the Year" winner.Keystone Club is a leadership and service program for youth ages 14-18 that encourages entrepreneurialism, civic engagement, and community responsibility. Through these opportunities, youth experience the benefits and challenges inherent in philanthropic work, and gain a practical understanding of how they can make a difference in their community.

Maddie, 2025 Loveland-Pulliam Club Senior Youth of the Year Winner, is the president of her Keystone Club. She has been a member at Loveland-Pulliam Club for nine years. Now, as she enters her Junior year of high school, she credits Keystone for helping her gain leadership, confidence, and public speaking skills as she works towards her future goals of earning a college volleyball scholarship.

What kind of community service projects have you been involved in through Keystone?

We are working on a project for Teaching Tree. We’re making a concrete and stone path for the littles there. I feel like our biggest reason to do it at first was to get our hours, but now I feel like it’s just fun to talk with everybody. We went out and measured, we had some great conversations, and just came together to start making the path.

What skills have you gained through Keystone that you use in everyday life?

Definitely speaking skills, confidence and leadership. Me and the staff will plan meetings on Monday, and on Tuesdays we will run the meetings, so that has helped me with speaking to people, especially others around my age.

How do you think your experience in Keystone Club will help you succeed at your goal of playing volleyball in college?

Leadership, because being on a volleyball team takes great leadership skills to make a cohesive team. And this helps me so much with all of that.
