Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County hosts STEAMfest, Fall Showcase for Community

Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County hosts STEAMfest, Fall Showcase for Community STEAMfest is the premier Northern Colorado STEAM event for community youth Looking for something fun (and free) to do in Northern Colorado? Then join the Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County at the annual Day for Kids: STEAMfest on Sept. 16 at The Promenade Shops at Centerra from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For the sixth year in a row, the BGCLC has provided the premier Northern Colorado STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) event for youth, families and the community.

Day for Kids is a Boys & Girls Clubs of America nationwide event that celebrates the youth in our communities. Day for Kids is a day to advocate for youth while also highlighting the life-changing work the Boys & Girls Clubs across the nation do for youth that need it most.

This free event unites local STEM and STEAM vendors from all over the Front Range to provide creative, informative and fun activities for all ages to enjoy. A few vendors to look forward to include:

  • Painting demonstration and activity with Pinot’s Pallet
  • Making rain clouds with Leading Learners
  • A beehive demonstration with Northern Colorado Beekeepers Association
  • 3D Printing with Aleph Objects

This year we will also be combining our STEAMfest with our Fall Showcase event that was previously held in October at Embassy Suites in Loveland. Several pieces of artwork from all ages of Club members will be displayed, and then judged, by local community members. Club members who receive the highest ratings on their artwork will then advance to the regional art competition, and then hopefully the National Fine Arts Exhibit hosted by Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

Come celebrate the learning we provide youth on a daily basis while also becoming familiar with local organizations doing amazing things in the areas of science, technology, education, art and math! More information can be found on our website at begreatlarimer.org.
