A big round of applause for the Boys and Girls Club of Larimer County as they celebrate 40 years of making a difference in Northern Colorado. We’re proud to have played a small part in the impact they’ve made for the kids and their families in our community.
Our involvement with the Club comes down to two things: being involved in our community and supporting a cause that reflects the same values we hold as a company. As Connie Dohn often says, “Doug and I believe in karma—what goes around comes around. It’s this belief that has inspired us to be the best we can for everyone.”
For Doug, family has always been at the heart of Dohn Construction. “I was traveling a couple days a week and felt like I was missing out on my young family’s activities. That is one of the reasons Connie and I decided to start Dohn Construction,” Doug explains. We believe that kids thrive when the people around them show up, and supporting the Boys and Girls Club is one way we strive to show up for the next generation.
Over the years, that support has taken many forms. We’ve been involved in many Club events, participated in their golf tournaments, used our own golf tournament platform to raise funds, contributed to their Summer of Discovery program, and most recently, helped build their Loveland Youth Campus.
Our COO, Stephanie Dohn, has followed in Doug and Connie’s footsteps for community involvement and has served on the Club’s board for six years and counting. “As a working mom of three, I know how important it is for kids to have strong role models and a safe, supportive environment. Serving on the Boys and Girls Club board allows me to help provide that for so many children in our community,” she says.
Supporting the Boys & Girls Club has always been a team effort. Whether it’s our team members volunteering at events, participating in fundraising efforts, or lending a hand on special projects, our team takes pride in helping create opportunities for kids. As the Club celebrates 40 years of impact, we are honored to be a small part of their story, and we look forward to continuing our partnership as they shape and support the next generation.
