“The miracle is this: The more we share the more we have.” — Leonard Nimoy

It’s a beautiful time of year to be in Colorado, and I have had the opportunity to soak up the fall season in Estes Park twice over the last 30 days. Once for much-needed time in RMNP. More recently, I joined other nonprofit child care and youth-serving organizations in an effort to continue to share information and best practices and leverage our collective expertise on how best to serve local families. Over the last four years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County has been able to expand our services in the Estes Park community, adding after school care and growing our Club to allow for even greater youth participation in both our summer and school-year programming. This would not have been possible without strong local partnerships, including ones with the Estes Park School District, Town of Estes Park, Community Foundation of Northern Colorado, and United Way of Larimer County. As we continue to determine how best to meet the needs of working families and also engage youth in a meaningful way, these collaborations are critical in creating strong, impactful programming.

As the air grows colder and the natural world prepares for a long slumber, it gives us an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and appreciate the importance of relationships that have grown over the year. We are so grateful for the many volunteers, donors, funding and program partners that support BGCLC and the over 2,000 youth that come through our doors annually. I’m excited to see and celebrate many of you at our upcoming Donor Appreciation Social on Wednesday, November 20th. Details and RSVP information is below. I hope you can join us as we share the highlights of our 2024 program, all made possible by you.

As we move into the holiday season and prepare for our year-end giving campaign, I hope that you will consider continuing your support of BGCLC and the youth that we serve. There are so many ways to get involved over the next two months. Whether it’s purchasing gifts for local families in need, making a contribution on Colorado Gives Day, or donating CSU basketball tickets to create a memorable outing for our kids, there’s something for everyone! Thank you for all that you do to help us create safe spaces and places of belonging for youth, ensuring that great futures are starting right here in Larimer County!

With gratitude,

Chief Executive Officer

BGCLC Recognizes National Bullying Awareness Month

BGCLC is dedicated to providing safe havens where youth feel physically and emotionally secure when they’re not in school. October is National Bullying Awareness Month, a time to reflect on the effects of bullying and ways to prevent it. Youth at our Loveland-Pulliam Club contributed to Bullying Awareness by creating posters for Club that encourage kindness all year long. Members also created Kindness Rocks as reminders to promote inclusion, kindness, and acceptance!
