Health is wealth. At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County we believe that allowing members to run, jump, throw, and explore is crucial for their well-being. We are 100 percent committed to showing youth what a healthy lifestyle means. That’s why we provide programming and coaching on how to stay healthy and make smart choices for life, not just right now.
We also offer healthy food courtesy of the Food Bank for Larimer County for all Club members at no additional charge.
In 2016, over 1,309 youth participated in Healthy Lifestyle Programs!
SMART MOVES (Skills Mastery and Resistance Training): Nationally acclaimed comprehensive prevention program that helps young people resist alcohol, tobacco and other drug use and premature sexual activity. SMART Moves features engaging, interactive, small-group activities that increase participants' peer support, enhances life skills, builds resiliency and strengthens leadership skills.
Healthy Habits: Designed to incorporate healthy living and active learning in every part of the Club experience, Healthy Habits emphasizes good nutrition, regular physical activity and improving overall well-being.
BGCA's first comprehensive health and wellness program developed in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, strives to improve the overall health of Club members by increasing their daily physical activity, teaching them good nutrition and helping them develop healthy relationships.
